Review: Speedy Speech® for School SLPs
What is Speedy Speech®?
Speedy Speech® is an all-inclusive, evidence-based program designed to help improve speech-sound production by providing short (5-10 minute) 1:1 drill-based sessions. Research shows that short, frequent, intensive sessions can cause dramatic (i.e. quick and efficient) progress in students with speech-sound disorders.
Check out my previous blog post, Using 5 Minute Speech Therapy in Schools, to see how I have used this service delivery method in the past! Trust me when I say I am a believer in short, frequent, intensive sessions.

What Are My Favorite Parts of Speedy Speech®?
The handouts for parents/teachers/administration. This makes it so easy to get everyone on the same page with the program, as well as keeping everyone in the loop throughout the process.
Therapy results in minimal academic disruption for a speech session. The time spent in therapy is about the same amount of time a student would spend taking a bathroom break, so little instruction is lost.
The use of 1:1 therapy sessions, which is so difficult to manage when working in a school setting due to time constraints (working around class schedules) and high caseloads.
The use of mass drilling of target sounds results in quick progress. This style of therapy is very "to the point", which can be so beneficial for many students.
